Detail shots at weddings are one of the many places where wedding photographers get to shine. I realized that there were shots I wish I had of my wedding details that I did not end up getting on the day of. My photographer got detail shots--but I wanted a few specific things I hadn't communicated! So I pulled out my box of wedding keepsakes, and got to work!
One thing I loved about my wedding ring was that the diamond was lab grown. I'm a huge proponent for Lab-grown diamonds! They are easier to get ethically, cheaper, and just as beautiful as natural diamonds. I wanted to get a picture of my ring in the wooden box, with the copper details surrounding it.
I used my wedding dress as a background, and loved the texture and light it provided. I also took a few shots focused just on the close details of the dress--too often, we only get pictures of the dress as a whole, missing all the intricate work that makes wedding dresses so luxurious
This was a short little experiment in detail photography, but I'm happy with these photos as ways to treasure the lovely details and emotion that I had on my wedding day.
I love all of the beautiful, personal details that go into weddings--the name of my business, Copper Leaf Photography Co., is rooted in the details from my own wedding! (Peep the copper leaves in the first photo!)
