This session was a DREAM, and my first senior session from when I lived in PA! We started in downtown Carlisle, PA, for some city shots, and then transitioned to King's Gap State Park to catch the sun's glow over the mountain!
Lindy is a rising senior--and a soon to be homeschool graduate! I was homeschooled myself, so this session was special. Lindy talked about her co-school and her plans for college. She's going to pursue a communications degree, and with her enigmatic personality, I know she's going to succeed!
She was a natural in front of the camera, and was totally down for all of the poses I wanted to try. These stair pictures were so fun to take, and the results---well, let's just say I am NOT disappointed.
If you ever wondered why your portrait photographer wants to book your session later in the day--this is why. When the sun comes close to the horizon, it creates a moody glow. This gives you beautiful bokeh (those out-of-focus light circles in the background) and flattering light.
It also gives you this wonderful warm tone to your images--which adds life to every photo! Hence the name--Golden Hour!
After we were satisfied with our city pictures, we drove over to King's Gap State Park to get some beautiful golden hour photos. The mountain has a garden and an overlook, and we made the most of both!
I always encourage my senior portrait clients to choose a location that has meaning to them. As a homeschooler, one of the biggest perks is completing assignments outdoors on sunny days. King's Gap is one of the locations Lindy would complete her work--so in a way, we took her senior portraits in her classroom--the great outdoors! This means her senior portraits not only represent her fun-loving personality, but her education too.
All in all, this session was beautiful! I had a blast, and hope to work with Lindy again in the future!!
