This is going to sound weird, but I'm going to say it anyway. Some sessions I just wish I could hang the photos on my own wall. It's not my family, but there's love in the pictures, warmth, rich sunlight--there's something beautiful in them I want to cherish.
This was one of those sessions.
At every turn, this family was bursting with love. They made fun of each other, of course. I always tell my family clients to throw a few insults at each other to get some good laughter!
But they also supported each other. I'll also ask family members to compliment each other, and these kids almost made me cry. They had so many good things to say to their mother, and there was no holding back on the sincerity, even if it was "for the photos."
They built each other up--they were each other's hype people. Every moment of this session was so fun, because they all supported each other so well.
You can just sense when a family has strong ties, and deep roots, and for these guys, that was true.
The best part for me was that this session was marking an occasion. Maria's daughter is going off to college--in fact, she's there now! Her son had also just landed his first major "adult" job, and is working there now, too.
I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride for this family. I don't know their whole story, but I could sense that these parents had fostered their children well. I hope they feel that looking through the photos, too.
One day, when I do have family pictures of my own on my wall, I hope they hold similar memories, of laughing together and loving on each other, and celebrating each other's accomplishments.
Adding a few more below the "book now" button because I just have to share them!
